That's the Gag: AA Members Buy It

AA: Snake Oil Poison
Where the Joke is on the User
"That's the gag! Chances are, you bought it already!" -- the Joker, Batman

I thought of this line from the Movie Batman (the unusual, Tim Burton version from 1989, where the bad guy was way better than the good guy."

While the Joker claimed that everyone in Gotham city had bought his poison drug in their chemicals and make-up products, in the same way, many member of AA have bought the drug which tells them that they can only stay sober with Twelve Steps

Yet at the same time, the steps make people addicted to religious formulations, or drive the member to other comfort measures, like food.

I have submitted time and again that AA does not work, but can actually prescribe illness and relapse.

That's the gag sparked by Bill W., the evil joker who sold many people on the notion that his Twelve Steps would help people stay sober.

The very thing which they seek for help is actually part of the problem, and its very inception.

I do not need a conception of God. I need to grow in grace and knowledge of Him who has been from the Beginning, Christ and Him Crucified.

Instead of working a program and dealing with emotions through action, we need a greater recognition of God's love for us through Christ. Instead of rules and o, we need the perfect standing of righteousness and the relationship of Father and Son, which we have because we are in Christ, and Christ is in us.

AA is a scam, and a dangerous one. Don't buy into it!
