Feelings Speak of Self -- Faith Speaks of Jesus

The bondage of feelings as the testimony for truth in our lives can be very damaging, if not deadly.

We need to go beyond our feelings, and stop living according to the flesh in our bodies.

Our feelings speak of self.

If we feel bad, we think that we are bad.

That is not the everlasting righteousness which God offers to us in His Son Jesus:

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy." (Daniel 9: 24)

and
But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end." (Isaiah 45: 17)

The writer of Hebrews also declares:

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" (Hebrews 5: 9)

We are not supposed to be looking at ourselves at all, not do we reckon ourselves alive in ourselves, but alive in Christ Jesus:

"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6: 11)

Dead to sin includes dead to feelings of condemnation.

We are to see ourselves in Christ, no longer in ourselves:

"1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory." (Colossians 3: 1-4)

Faith speak of Jesus, so stop looking at yourself!
