Scorn the Shame-Based Cult

Alcoholics Anonymous is a shame-based cult, as are all man-made religions.

Jesus came that we would have life, and that more abundantly, and through His death and resurrection we are delivered from condemnation, the larger word for shame:

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus," (Romans 8:1, NIV)

There is no condemnation and that is the gift which Jesus gave to the woman caught in the act of adultery:

"10When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." (John 8: 10-11)

Neither do I condemn you, Jesus says to the entire world today:

"1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." (1 John 2:1-2)

He is paying for all the sins of the entire world right now.

While Jesus has done a perfect work and sits at the right hand of God the Father representing us as perfectly righteous, evil men like Bill Wilson and his ill religious ilk imposed an evil cult which told men that the work was not done.

Jude prophesied of these wicked people:

"3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ." (Jude 3-4)

Bill W. denied Jesus Christ with every breath he took, fashioning himself as another savior who would force men and women into a bondage of steps and works which no man can do. Either we accept that Jesus is the Savior who was and is, who did and does all that He claimed, or we don't/

Jude writes further:

"8Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." (Jude 8)

and then

"12These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever." (Jude 12-13)

While AA claims to offer salvation and assistance, the cult leads people astray, making people worse off, providing nothing for the pain and suffering, depriving them of life, distorting their path and denying them the light of the Gospel of God's grace

Jesus railed against religious frauds like Bill and all AA adherents:

"13But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. 14Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

15Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." (Matthew 23: 13-15)

AA is a shame-based cult, one which pushes aside the grace of God and induces people to think that they can try harder, yet try they must to improve themselves.

That is a burden which no one can bear, and yet the Pharisees the AA adherents, demand that other people live up to that standard.

Shame-based all the way.

In Christ, there is no more shame, there is no more sorrow or condemnation, because Jesus took care of all of it:

"Therefore this is what the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, says to the descendants of Jacob: "No longer will Jacob be ashamed; no longer will their faces grow pale." (Isaiah 29: 22)

and

"Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more." (Isaiah 54: 4)

Followed by

"In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you." (Isaiah 54: 14)

and also

"Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours." (Isaiah 61: 7)

This everlasting prophecy is a reality today in Christ Jesus, and no cult, modern or otherwise, can undo what Jesus did.

Reject AA, and receive the goodness and grace of the Alpha and Omega today!

AA = Brilliant, Evil Cult

Alcoholics Anonymous is a brilliant yet evil cult.

Masquerading as an addition to the Bible, or other religious sects, this program teaches people to view themselves through the lens of the perversion that they struggle with.

There is nothing more evil than telling people to define themselves according to the very sin over which they wish to overcome.

By telling people that they struggle because that is what they are born that way, then there is no way for them to fight against it. Because they identify with the sin as a disease from which they can never be cured, these individuals see no way of escape.

They must diligent work the Twelve Steps and practice all the principles in all their affairs, as the AA book tells them to.

Nothing is suggested about AA.

Half-way through the book, the book then slams readers with the "fact" that if the individuals do not work the program, they will drink again, and to drink is to die.

First of all, the harsh possibility is not.

There are many people who refrained from alcohol, then drank, and then returned to sobriety.

While AA gives the impression that drinking leads a person to greater failure and death, the fact is that alcoholism is a work of the flesh, and once a man throws away any sense of shame about failure, he is in a better position to break away from drink.

Alcoholics Anonymous crystallized in people a sense of shame, putting them under law, teaching them to watch out for their thoughts and feelings, while inadvertently giving them the impression that they have no power over anything in their lives.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a brilliant cult because the program take advantage of the limits of man's efforts to curb his own flesh. Man needs a new life, not more rules and regulations.

In one sense, the cult comforts people with the infamous lie of choosing one's own conception of God, then forces them into following a regimen of Twelve Steps, which makes the program more powerful and important than whatever God a person may trust in.

People in this world are full of pain and hurt, but the last thing they need is more religion to bring them into bondage. They need the truth who sets them free, and they will not find anything in the AA cult, based on lies and distortions, created by an ego-guru starved for recognition, who succumbed to a number of his own addictions before his timely demise.

AA Does Despite to the Cross

"Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10: 29)

Wow!

No one can put the consequences for rejecting the grace of God in such stark terms.

Alcoholics Anonymous does precisely this.

Instead of honoring the work of the Cross, and the blood of Jesus which cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1: 7), this evil cult insults the grace of God and tramples the work which Jesus accomplished at the Cross. as though men and women must keep confessing their sins to improve themselves before the wholly holy God, in whose presence none of us can stand worthy without first receiving ourselves fully in Christ.

I refuse to do this any more.

I am against all who would reject the goodness f God, which leads to repentance, and anyone who despises the grace of God, which teaches us to say "No!" to sin and "Yes!" to righteousness!

"4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?" (Romans 2: 4)

and then

"1For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." (Titus 2: 11-14)

Paul even exhorted his young pastor-protégé  not to relent from preaching this message about the grace and truth of Jesus Christ (John 1: 17):

15These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Yet sadly to this day, many churches despise preachers of the New Covenant, they have rejected the Gospel of Grace (Galatians 1:6), and they feel proud doing so!

Don't Put Faith in Feelings At All

Pastor Joseph Prince reminded me that we are not saved by faith and feelings.

We should not put any trust in how we feel.

If we feel bad, if we feel guilty, that does not mean anything at all.

Today, I recognize that if I feel good, that does not mean anything, either.

We are not saved, we are not set free from sin, because we feel good.

God is not near or far away in our lives because of how we feel.

We are children of God because of His Promises, all of which are yea and Amen because of what Jesus did at the Cross (2 Corinthians 1: 20)

I agree with Pastor Andrew Wommack on this one: men and women, especially in the Body of Christ, have placed to high a premium on our feelings.

They come and go, and in the final analysis, they merely register what we are thinking.

For this reason, Paul invited his fellow Christians to do the following:

"8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you." (Philippians 2:8-9)

The mistake which I had made, and which perhaps many others make (in greater part because of the perversions of the AA cult) was that when I felt bad, when I got angry, when I lost my temper, when I had negative thoughts, I would condemn myself.

I would condemn myself, meaning that there was some rule that I was still abiding by, yet not abiding by.

How true that was.

I am a child of God, regardless of how I feel. We cannot put our faith in feelings precisely because they do not define our standing before God at all.

More Revelations

Bob George's revelation about sin and guilt becoming an old family heirloom made a lot of sense to me.

Yes, I had believed for a long time that God was still mindful of my sins.

It is instinctive, almost. Never once did I step back and consider that indeed all sins have passed away, and I have been justified from all things.

It really takes a while for the grace of God to permeate our lives.

We do not get it all at once, for there are great tracts of our old man which seek to remain or resurface in our lives.

"10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." (Hebrews 8: 10-12)

He is not mindful of my sins, even if I am mindful.

It has been a reflex reaction of mine for years.

For the first time last night, I realized that I was not walking uprightly according to the Gospel.

I was still mindful of my sins, in that I believed that everything was put away in Christ through His death, and raised with Him when He rose from the dead.

So much of the pain in my life is attributed to the simple fact -- I did not believe the Gospel.

And sad to say, there are all too many people out there who still do not, especially in churches.

Why do we not believe?

Because we are still holding onto the law, to the Ten Commandments, when that Covenant was never given to us in the first place.

Law is contrary to faith, let us be very clear on that:

"And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them." (Galatians 3: 12)

Jesus has freed us from the curse of the law, too:

"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree." (Galatians 3: 13)

There is the reason, then, why many people do not feel forgiven.

We still think that we owe God something. We don't, because His Son paid it all.

By extension, I admit for my part that feeling bad about what I did, and trying to control my feelings about what I did, has been such a part of my life, that I am not used to not doing it.

For years, because of the AA cult, taking my inventory and looking at my sins were all a part of life.

No, they are not, and they never could be.

Jesus offers us life, and that more abundantly.

Don't stop hearing the grace of God in your life and in your circumstances. Don't stop!

Keep receiving the gifts of righteousness and abundance of grace today! (Romans 5: 17)

A Sense of Sin? Pure Nonsense

When we are born again, we receive a new spirit, a spirit of adoption.

For the past few years, a sense of sin and shame has welled up in my psyche.

I began to seriously question these sentiments, since I understand the full payment of all that Jesus did for me at the Cross.

I am upset with many churches and religious groups in our world today.

They do not preach the fullness of the New Covenant, they do not inform people of the Gospel of Grace, and they go out of their way to level people with rules and commands, when man's greatest needs is life, which we find in One Person: Jesus!

Bob George defined my struggle perfectly in his work Classic Christianity:

I have since learned that many Christians share the same bondage. They have committed some sin which seems ever to be a part of their present, even as the years roll by. It is constantly on their minds, like an ever-present black cloud  hanging over them. After a while, guilt becomes an accepted part of their lives; to lose it would be almost like parting with a precious family heirloom. (56)

I could not agree more with what George talks about on this page.

And now I add something else, in the context of AA: that sense of sin and shame does not go away for people who diligently follow those twelve steps.

Even when people pay back money or something else to make up for the bad things which they had done in the past, the facts remain that a sense of shame and frustration do not go away without the perfect blood of Jesus Christ!

Religion at its core ties people down again to rules and regulations which no one can keep, and that is exactly what AA does, telling its members that they must keep going to meeting, maintain short accounts with other people regarding their resentments and other bad feelings.

All of that talk makes a mockery of what Jesus did at the Cross.

"But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;" (Hebrews 10: 12)

To this day, all too many Christians simply do not believe this. They do not believe that all sins have been put away, nor do they recognize that Jesus today serves as our propitiation, or our  mercy seat, forever justifying us before God the Father, or now Our Father!

Do you still have a sense of sin in your life today? Then you are basically declareding that what Jesus did at the Cross was not enough, and all too many people, especially in our churches, feed that sense of guilt and shame.

We need to recognize and believe  what the Bible says:

"There is therefore now no condemnation in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8: 1, NIV)

A sense of sin is therefore nonsense for those of us who believe and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Keep receiving the gift of righteousness today, and reject any counsel or teaching which would seek to bring you back into bondage:

"1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

2Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love." (Galatians 5: 1-6)

In this passage, Paul references circumcision to speak of the entire Law of Moses, from which we have been justified in every way (Acts 13: 38-39)

Not just the ceremonial elements, but everything, including the Ten Commandments, the ministry of condemnation written on stones (2 Corinthians 3: 7-12)

We are a  new creation, we are made new, and all things are made new because of Jesus and all that He did at the Cross for us.

Hallelujah!

Part of Why I Struggled to Know

The will of God is not hidden, nor does it imply some unknown or unforeseen instructions for the future:

"15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God." (Ephesians 5: 15-21)

Why I struggled to understand the will of God was that I believed that the Spirit of God would come or go in my life depending on what I was thinking or feeling.

In our minds, in our bodies, we still have sin in our flesh. We are born again in our spirit, even though the outer man may be perishing every day.

I have received a spirit of adoption, and I am sealed as a son of God forever.

In fact, God sees me in His own Son Jesus, and loves me as much as He loves Jesus:

"Herein is love perfected among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17)

My sonship before God does not change, no matter what I think or feel, no matter what I say or do.

He is moving within us to take care of key things in our lives, and He has granted His mind and His peace, which leads us in all things.

I used to think that how I felt, what I thought, and the circumstances in which I found myself would affect whether I would hear from God or sense His presence in my life.

Nonsense!

The spirit of adoption grants us all a new identity in Christ, in which we can know and believe in His love for us (1 John 4: 16), that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13: 5), because we are seated in Christ at God the Father's right hand (Ephesians 2: 4-6)
